The Vassilakis and Sons SA Company was established in 1960 by
Theodoros Vassilakis in a small shop at the heart of
Corfu town. There he set up a small distillery
producing a range of traditional liquors. As the
production of kumquat on Corfu was increasing at the
time, he decided to expand his business on the
manufacture of kumquat products, including original
liquors.
A keen learner and self-taught distiller, Theodoros
Vassilakis has now become an expert in the field.
Driven by his passion and deep knowledge of distillery
and oenology he has invented innovative products and
obtained patents.
Our company not only specialises in kumquat to make a
range of products, but also produces a variety of
traditional liquors, exceptional wines and unique
spirits.
Vassilakis wines come in a limited number to ensure
high quality. Made from grapes grown at our 12.5 acre
vineyard on the island of Cephallonia, our wines can
satisfy the most demanding taste.
Over the years the company has expanded with
Vassilakis two sons joining the venture. Our products
are distributed through shops all over the island. The
best restaurants and hotels on Corfu are our clients
and we receive orders from all over Greece. Our wines
and kumquat products are preferred by the locals as
well. Despite our companys success, we remain a
family run business with product quality and customer
service being our core values.
The Vassilakis winery is located on Cephallonia,
whereas the distillery and headquarters can be found
at Agios Ioannis, about 10 km from the Corfu town.
